- In some states, junior registrations are up 25 percent.
- In my own town, the number of junior cricket teams has gone from 51 to 64.
- After the Ashes series, Cricket Australia got 350 'unsolicited complimentary emails' , more than they would usually receive in a whole year.
- The multicultural TV network SBS wants to show Australia's tour to South Africa, and the 2007 World Cup in the West Indies live on free to air TV.
- And....They also want to show India's tour of Pakistan in January and February!
And to think that SBS 'saved' the Ashes from pay TV, by volunteering to show them this winter, it was a great series and suddenly cricket is the hottest thing around :D
Some other things worth mentioning;
- Andy Symonds was wearing zinc on his lips despite the fact that the Telstra Dome's roof was closed.
- The Australian cricketers all changed from cricket spikes when they were batting, to football boots for when they were fielding, as because the Telstra Dome's surface is more suitable for football, wearing football boots gave them a better grip.

Great. I mention often that it is a concern how the cricket popularity has declined in nations like England and West Indies. But Ashes, of course, has changed that. I came to know that Beckham also caught on with some cricket!
:D I don't think that cricket would ever die in a place like Australia - we are too crazy for it, plus every 5 years or so, even the Aussie of the year is a cricketer (and rightly so!)
Beckham :P - I have a healthy disregard for him!
